In the early 1950's Jim married, and bought a ruined Welsh farm in Merioneth (now part of Gwynedd). This he steadily rehabilitated and planted with woodland.

The Sea

The Pilot Cutter - New site (2005) about the reconstruction of Bill Tilman's pilot cutter "Mischeif" in which Jim Lovegrove sailed to the south atlantic in 1957.

The Mary Rose Trust
- The Mary Rose is the only 16th century warship on display anywhere in the world. Built between 1509 and 1511, she was one of the first ships able to fire a broadside, and was a firm favourite of King Henry VIII. Jim Lovegrove was the Financial Director of the Trust for several years and during the raising of the wreck in 1982.
